George and Lisa Dowell formed Dowell LLP with the vision of providing sophisticated, client-focused service. With this guiding principle, they approach each client and matter with the same formula – listen to the client’s goals and deliver results that meet those goals in the most efficient manner possible.
George has spent 14 years representing clients nationwide ranging in size from garage-based entrepreneurs to billion dollar companies. He studied law at Santa Clara University where he has also been a guest lecturer and mentor with the Entrepreneurs Law Clinic.
Prior to law school,George was a teacher in Western New York working with kids with dyslexia. He attended the University of Washington where he obtained a degree in economics and won a national championship as a member of the rowing team.
George focuses his practice in Proposition 65 Compliance and Defense, Corporate Governance, Business Litigation and Transactions, and Insurance Coverage.
When he’s not working or coaching his sons, George enjoys golf, cooking and almost anything related to the outdoors.
Lisa focused her law school education on the public interest sector, clerking for the Superior Court of California, holding an internship with the Santa Clara County Office of the County Counsel and the U.S. Army’s Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps in Heidelberg, Germany. After graduating from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2004, she practiced family law. Upon returning to Silicon Valley, Lisa worked for a plaintiff’s litigation firm specializing in Prop 65. She also spent several years working in the non-profit sector, gaining experience in development and event management. Lisa focuses on legal research, office management, marketing and client communications.
In her free time, Lisa enjoys hanging out with her two boys, working with her off-track Thoroughbred, and spending time with her two rescue dogs.
